Russo-European Laika Dog Breed

Russo-European Laika Dog Breed

Russia (Ex-Soviet Union)

The Laika became famous in the West some years ago as a "space dog." This is Laika type that the Russian used in their space experiments, and it was when the breed name was known in the entire world. It may be not so well-known that the Laika comprises a group of many breeds or that these are mainly used in their native country as barking pointer dogs.

The Russo-European Laika is the Laika family medium-sized representative. It is robust build; has dark-colored eyes, placed at a slightly oblique position; the fur is dense and rough, and the tail is curved.

The color is grey, beige, or yellowish-grey. Its height at withers is between 50 and 63 cm.
