Pyrenean Mastiff Dog BreedSpain The Pyrenean Mastiff should not be confused with the Pyrenean mountain dog. While it is true that both breeds have some details in common, the first is clearly of the mastiff type. The head is wide and solid, the skull is rounded and the ears are small and very pointy and hanging. The thick tail is curved up high (but not on the loin) when the dog has a mission. The hair is more abundant than the mastiffs; it is thick and coarse with frayed edges, and it should be more abundant around the neck and at the back of the muscles. The color is white with two big gray or fawn patches on the head and sometimes on the body. The height at withers must be 70 to 80 cm. It weighs 55 to 70 kg. |
