Nordic Spitz Dog Breed (Norbotten Spitz)

Sweden

After many "stopped animation", the Norbotten Pomeranian Dog was reborn in the 60s in order to turn into one of the most arguable Scandinavian Pomeranian dogs. In fact, it is an ancient breed that for a long time has been used in the Northern regions of Sweden as a barking pointer dog, and also as a guard and Shepherd dog. It is originally dark colored but we would not be mistaken if we consider it the Swedish equivalent for the Finnish Pomeranian Dog and the Norwegian Buhund.

For many years it was rarely presented in official dog shows, and in 1948, the breed was considered "extinguished" and it was erased from the Swedish kennel Club. A few years ago, isolated specimens were found, similar to the old type. The interest was reborn and it did not take long to dispose of enough specimens that allowed to reactive its raise. In that matter, the Norrbotten Spitz was again available in the Swedish kennel Club.

The Norrbotten Spitz must be little, vivacious and be receptive to all. Preferably, the basic color is white with black, beige, or red spots. Its height at withers is about 40 cm.
