Hungarian Sheepdog Dog Breed (Komondor)
Hungary
One cannot avoid noticing the Komondor presence. This is due to its abundant coat, always messy (which, as a tradition, must not be altered), and attracts the attention of both dog inexperienced people as well as the great dog experts. It is a very ancient breed and it is mentioned in the Hungarian Medieval Literature. This breed is still used to keep flock and cattle; and its coat is composed of a flat or rounded "strings", which efficiently protects it from heat in summer and from cold in winter. The Komondor has proved to be an excellent house dog, and it has become very popular as a show dog, especially in North America.
It is always white-colored. Its height at withers is 65 cm for male dogs and 55 for female dogs; their ideal heights are 80 and 70 cm respectively.
