How should I apply manual traction?

We have already seen that, on occasions, it is necessary to manually move the puppy that is stuck. These maneuvers must be done with caution and care, always making the manual contraction coincide with the contraction of the bitch. There are two ways of applying traction, depending on if the puppy is coming out headfirst or feet first.

When headfirst, please both your index and heart finger in the shape of a "V" and slightly bend them towards your Palm, which must be facing upwards. This forms a claw which will pull on the puppy by its ears and jaw. When feet first, you used your open hand with your Palm upward, placing one of the puppies paws in between your index and heart finger, and the other one in between the heart and ring finger.
