Also, on occasions, veterinarians recur to the use of repository progesterone in order to ensure that a pregnancy proceeds normally. Many breeders have tried -- and keep on trying -- to increase the number of puppies in a litter by means of pituitary gonadotropin injections, prepared with the lad of other domesticated animals, for example horses, sheep or pigs, along with the pituitary gland, as, in theory, if administered in the right moment, these hormones can stimulate the ovaries to produce more follicles and therefore ovulate a greater number of ovules.
