Hereditary Anomalies

There are many hereditary "anomalies" that appear in dogs which are simply trivial and senseless. Cases like the characteristic tail of a bulldog are considered repulsive in the newborn boxer, many times resulting in rejection and even sacrifice. Was worse is that the control of the hereditary anomalies is very difficult and almost impossible as most of them have not really been categorized or identified; in fact almost every month there is a new one. As an example, in 1930, there were only five identified hereditary anomalies; in 1960, there were about 50; then about 10 years later, it practically doubled.

All this has resulted from man's desire to know more about the causes of such anomalies. And that, in a sense, is not bad, but we must not forget that what might seem like an anomaly is actually inherited differently by different dogs or breeds. All in all, it is fair to say that if the anomalies do not represent a serious danger to the dog's health, then simply accept them as part of your dog's human nature.
