Feeding a Pregnant Dog
Balanced Mother Diet

If during the different stages of your dog's life a correct diet is a decisive factor in order to optimize her quality of life, how much more so should it be while she's pregnant, when she's got lots of little lives depending on her. An adequate diet of the female in the last stage of pregnancy and, consequently, during the following two or three months, results in a lot of milk for the nursing puppies. It also helps the mother recuperate quicker.

You must know that during the last 10 days of pregnancy and as long as nursing lasts, the bitch will need to have a great intake of liquid in order to favor the production of milk. A good trick is to offer her, besides water, specifically formulated milk for puppies (with an important amount of grease and proteins) prepared according to instructions of the manufacturer and it has been demonstrated at the intake of this milk greatly increases the quality of the puppies' diet.
