Erdelyi Kopo Dog Breed
Hungary
The Hungarian hound comes from Transylvania and it particularly stands out because of its obedience, easiness for training and exceptional sense of orientation. There are two sizes: the long-legged variety that is used to hunt wild boars and the smaller one that is used to hunt foxes and hares.
Regarding the physical constitution, the erdelyi kopo has a lot in common with the foxhound / greyhound of Central Europe. It has a rectangular shape, dark and slightly oblique eyes; the ears are taken very close to the head and put high. The tail is curved at the end.
The biggest variety of the erdelyi kopo has longer and thicker hair than its closest relative. This bigger variety usually has black hair and the small one is red. The height at withers is 55 to 65 cm; the other is 45 to 50. The weight may vary between 30 and 35 kg.
