English Foxhound Dog Breed

Great Britain

The English Foxhound is raised with great care, and all the breed details are taken thoroughly on the registries. However, the British kennel Club does not state any English Foxhound classes on dog shows. It seems that this attitude is due to the country decision to keep the English Foxhound as a pure working dog breed. And this is how it is acknowledged all over the world; most people has seen pictures or photographs where the main motif is an English-style fox hunt with a pack of hounds that goes over a cliff and keeps non-stopping barks in chase of their prey. In short, on recent years, some countries have seen English foxhounds exported from Great Britain.

As the aspect has a secondary importance when it concerns working abilities, the breed type is very varied. The color is normally cinnamon, black on the middle part of the back or white instead, with black, cinnamon or lemon spots. Its height at withers about 60 cm.
