Current Dog Problems
The way, in which things that we have touched upon have developed, have caused diverse problems. The increase of dog owners has also led to a great number of inept dog owners, who lack the skills or willingness (sometimes both) of taking care of their dogs in a useful manner for the owner and a pleasant one for the rest. In order for the dog to become part of modern society and particularly to the urban one, there are certain conditions with regards to the maintenance and training of a dog that must be imposed on the dog owner. There must also be a certain level of consideration for those members of the community who do not have dogs and who even dislike these animals. Therefore, there is a need for great efforts on behalf of the canine society to provide specific information on the care that should be given to dogs.
The hereditary defects that may exist in dogs are another factor of concern. Those defects reveal themselves through sicknesses, mental deficiencies, etc. The increase of the demand of dogs has propelled shady breeders to sell inferior dogs at lucrative prices. There is a need for stricter laws to stop this from occurring and to carry out a thorough investigation to determine logical methods of breeding in order to help breeders to produce healthy and vigorous dogs. Above all, our objective should be to extend the discoveries made in veterinary medicine and other important sciences to keep and constantly perfect the breeds that we have, for the good of the dogs, the owners and the entire society.
