The Brazilian tracker hound is the result of the intercross between the American foxhound and the coonhound, among others. It is considered very brave and it has a good physical resistance and it is said that even in the overwhelming weather of its country of origin it is capable of tracking the prey during hours in difficult land.

The head is very long and triangular-shaped; the ears are long and hanging; the eyes are dark, the tail has the shape of a saber and the hair is short and thick. The color may vary: blackbird blue, white with black or cinnamon patches or even black and cinnamon. The height at withers is about 65 cm in males and a bit less in females.
