Bracco Italiano Dog Breed
Italy
The Bracco Italiano, an Italian copy of the English Pointer and the German Vorsteh, is divided in two varieties: Bianco Arancio (white-orange) and Roano Marrone (chestnut roan). The first one is native from Piamonte; the second, from Lombardy, but nowadays there are specimens of intermediate colors, and all Braccos from these color varieties are considered as a single breed.
The Bracco Italiano has a robust build and, according to the standard breed, it has to lift up its head with pride and has a serious expression, the same as a gentle and intelligent one. The nose is flesh-colored or in harmony with the coat color. The eyes may be yellow. The ears are long, with smooth coat, droopy, and have to be moveable. The coat is short and shiny.
Its color may vary from pure white with orange spots to chestnut with different shades and sizes. Its height at withers varies a lot as well; from 55 to 67 cm is acceptable.
