Bolognese Dog Breed

Bolognese Dog Breed

Italy

We could describe the Bolognese as a silky poodle or a long-legged Maltese. The breed is related to the other luxury breeds from the Mediterranean zone –with the varieties of Bichon, for example, and it is believed that it comes from Bologne where it lived in medieval times.

The Bolognese must have big and dark eyes, hanging ears and a tail put high that is taken curved on the loin. The abundant, long, silky hair extends from the nose to the end of the tail. The color must be pure white. The fawn patches are not desirable. The height at withers must be 27 to 30 cm in males and 25 to 28 in females.
