Billy Dog Breed

The Billy is a French breed that was formed during the 19th century and it was concretely raised for deer hunting and wild boar hunting. The Poitevin, as other less known French breeds, appears in its family tree. The breed is named after the Billy population (Haut-Poitou).
It is a tall and elegant dog it has a long and very narrow head. The ears hang and are put down and the long tail is carried low. The hair is short but the texture is not so coarse. The color is usually cream and sometimes it has orange patches or a saddle of this tone.
The height at withers is 61 to 66 cm in males and 58 to 62 cm in females.
