Berner Niederlaufhund Dog Breed- Jura niederlaufhund
- Luzerner niederlaufhund
- Schweizer niederlaufhund
Switzerland These Swiss short-legged dogs that are used to track or make the prey fly are smaller versions of the long-legged varieties that have similar names. They have evolved due to crosses between the primitive type and several smaller breeds, especially the dachshund or badger dog, and they are different from their taller relatives in the shape of the head and also in size. The Niederlaufhund's head is longer, thinner and lighter than the large Schweizer Laufhund's. Because it has short legs, the lines of the body suggest the clearly rectangular shape. See also Schweizer Laufhund. The difference between the four varieties is the color and each of the varieties of the Niederlaufhund has the coat of the same color as its corresponding relative of longer-legged Laufhund family. The height at withers is only 30 to 38 cm. |
