Man Bite Dog

T he other day I was reading this really interesting article on different situations in which a Man had gotten a Bite from a Dog. As probably many postmen know, the job they do has actually been quite dangerous due to dogs that were not kept in a gated area. Not only this but great numbers of women and Men are Bitten by a Dog every year. This type of thing usually occurs when dogs are not properly socialized or have not been neutered or spayed and can become very dangerous. Dog owners should be aware of the responsibility is requires to have a dog, and properly train it, socialize it, and control their dogs. Failure to accomplishing the responsibility can lead to dog bites and death in some cases. There was a study that I was reading up on the other day that showed that in a two year period around eighty percent of all dog bites related fatalities had to do with dogs that were not restrained or who were on or off their owner’s property. These kinds of statistics make it painfully obvious that more dog owners need to take action to socializing their dogs. However, on the other hand people should also be careful to not go near dogs they do not know. Many times people have gotten near a dog because the dog looked “cute” and attempted to touch the dog and have had unfortunate accidents that could have been avoided in the first place. If you see that a dog is off a leash, stay away from it. Another important thing to keep in mind is that biting is not a breed specific thing, it can occur by any dog who has not been properly trained.
