The good thing is that with a little foreknowledge and by acting quickly you as your dog’s owner can help out to prevent even a grave problem from taking the life of your dog. Remember that the responsibility of a dog owner is to protect their dog’s life and the owner ultimately responsible for whatever happens to it. There are laws protecting dogs from abuse and neglect but these are only helpful to a certain extent. The only one that can really assure your dog a fine protected habitat to life in is the owner. There are some cases of things that can cause dog trauma such as other dog bites and Dog Bite Infections can then spring up which is a nasty experience for both the owner and the pet, but it is important to always keep the phone number of your dog’s veterinarian and the local emergency animal clinic by the phone in case of emergency. If your dog gets into a fight and is bit by another dog you should get your dog checked by the veterinarian since even seemingly small bites can turn into a serious Dog Bite Infection. If your dog has just gotten bit, you should immediately clean the area around the bite with soap and warm water. You can then put some Hydrogen peroxide on the affected area. Always be careful when handling an injured dog because they will sometimes when in extreme pain bite accidentally. If you suspect that your dog has gotten a bite from a rabid animal (an animal with rabies) you should immediately get in touch with either your veterinarian or your local animal emergency clinic. |
