As in any problem that a dog could present, the beginning of its solution goes through finding out the origins of the same. Between all the causes that now occupies us it is worth mentioning the following:

  • Inadequate dose of daily exercises with relation to the breed and age of the exemplary.
  • Lack of external stimulus (boredom)
  • Excessive dependency of the affective environment
  • Lack of calcium and/or fiber, as a consequence of an unbalanced diet

With relation to the first of them, we must be clear that there doesn't exist two dogs that are alike in what needs of daily exercising refers to.

Depending on the origin of the breed (shepherding, hunting, guarding, etc.) and although their destiny is not always related to these functions, you mustn't forget that it will be this origin which will determine the daily doses of exercise. This does not include walking, which the exemplary will require. In the same way as the lack of exercise can cause aggressive behavior or hyperactive

conducts, the first state is usually translated, in general, in wreckage of furniture or other domestic items, as a way of burning some of its energy.

In direct relation with the already exposed parameters (breed, age, gender and function), every dog must daily burn a determined individual dose of energy. If not, the dog will channel it and let go of it in some other way.

After an aggression, a coupling or a wreckage, every animal, including the dog, manifests generally low levels of activity with respect to normal.

Nonetheless, and in relation with the problem, object of this chapter, the cause of the restlessness or anger of the owners lays in that lacking the dog of a sense of value of things, the same as he can tear apart the newspaper on the couch, he might do it with a costly Persian rug. The problem rests in that the dog doesn't understand the difference of answer from part of his owner with respect to the destruction of one object or another. To make the dog stop this kind of behavior, if not totally at least in a partial way, you must adequate not only the number of daily outside walks of the animal, but also the quality of the same (walking, low intensity exercising, continuous and intense exercising, etc)to the characteristics and particular needs of the exemplary.

By making small modifications on the daily schedules, you may determine the exact dose that the dog requires, because it can get to be as negative, at all levels, a lack of exercise as an overload of it.
