Variations in Cat Weight

An unexpected change of weight is a subtle symptom of the existence of clinical problems. Any loss of weight not related with a change in the diet is worrying, though an unforeseen increase also could be a symptom of a disease.

Go to the veterinarian as soon as possible if he has loss of weight and:

  • Fever
  • Lethargy
  • Appetite increase or decrease
  • Restlessness
  • Weakness
  • Vomits
  • Diarrhea
  • Thirst increase or decrease

Go to the veterinarian soon if there is increase of weight and:

  • Lethargy
  • Thirst increase
  • Dull hair, tarnished
  • Loss of hair
  • Decrease of appetite
  • Shivers
  • Vomits
  • Shakes
