Tonkinese Cat Breed
Origin
The Tonkinese is the result of a cross between the seal point Siamese and the Burmese. It's a semi long-haired cat from Canada.
Since 1930, just two Tonkinese cats are needed to continue the breed. They are very sociable and of easy maintenance. They show a great interest in what is going around them.
Characteristics
Their coating is medium short in length, close-lying, fine, soft and silky, with a lustrous shine. Torso medium in length, demonstrating well-developed muscular strength. Males longer than females. Fairly slim legs, hind legs longer than front. Oval paws and medium sized tail, tapering.
the head is a modified slightly rounded wedge with alert ears. Oval tips, broad at the base. Hair on the ears very short and close-lying. Open almond shaped eyes and oblique that go from aquamarine to turquoise or blue-green.
Body color should be a rich, even, unmarked color. The legs, tail and mask tend to have a darker color like Siamese. Colors are: natural mink, champagne mink, blue mink, platinum mink.
They need some space, for example a backyard. The cares they need as for bathing and brushing are occasionally. It is recommendable rubbing a suede cloth.
