The Korat CatThe Korat, an oriental cat discovered in Thailand, is considered in his native country as an amulet of the good luck; "Si-Sawat", can mean " good look"; his international name is from Korat's region, a high plateau in the distant north-east of the country, where he is known, at least, since the XIVth century and he is mentioned in the Book of poems of the cat of the kingdom of Ayuthia (1350-1757). In spite of being an ancient breed of mellow lineage, the Korat Cat has not been known out of Thailand and of Asia even it does a little time. It is believed that the first Korat that was exported, defined as a Siamese blue monocolor, that have been can have met in the Great Brittany towards the ends of the XIXth century. However, the modern history of the breed started in 1959, the first pair proceeding from Bangkok being imported in the United States.
