Sphinx Cat Breed

Origin
Because they were bought in the state of New Mexico in the United States, they were known as Mexican hairless or bald Mexican. This breed is a lethal mutation of the domestic European, which can only pair with a domestic European, if not the kittens are born dead.

Characteristics
They characterize for their lack of hair classifying them as a naked breed. They present locks of hair in the spout, ears and in males in their testicles. The skin should be of velvety texture. The kittens are born with excessively fine and soft hair, which starts falling off until they are completely naked during their first months.

Exists all solid colors and bicolor and sometimes present a pink chest.

The skin shows combination of colors with extremely little fur over their body, creating curious shades. The colors of these cats can appear in any created combination. The eyes are round of implantation marked in the head. The cranium is lengthened and smoothed between the eyes. Since they don't have follicular secretion, sweat stains their body, so if it is not cleaned immediately, the stain will stay for life.

Due to their lack of hair, their normal body temperature is higher which make them prone to skin and respiratory diseases.

They don't have whiskers or eyebrows. Their sexual maturity is slow allowing them the presence of hair until they complete their growth.

For the people that love cats but are allergic to hair, this breed is not a good option. Besides that, they are very docile, affectionate and very loving.
