Siamese Cat Breed

It appeared in Europe, for first time, some 100 years ago, according to the legend, they live in temples in slam, actually Thailand. Formerly at the end of the past century, the Siamese was so popular that is was exhibited on expositions becoming an established type of breed.

Aspect : stylish and slim structure with a well built elastic body. Cuneiform head with big sharp triangular ears and large straight nose.

Hair : smooth and tight fur coat along with a dense, shiny short hair.

Color : it comes in cream, ivory and white with spots on the ears, snout, hands, feet and tail that can be steel, chocolate, blue or lilac colored. They are known as seal point, blue point, red point, lilac point and tabby point.

Eyes : intense blue slanted big eyes.

Particularities : before, a light silver look was the main characteristic of the true Siamese. Today, this defect is almost non-existing and, on an exhibition animal causes a bad punctuation. Also the once typical bended tail of the Siamese is now considered an important flaw. Animals who posses this characteristics are excluded from breeding.
