Cat VS Humans: Showing respectAs we all know, the base for a good friendship is mutual respect. This means that you must learn to treat your cat respectfully and understand that it will not always agree with you. There are occasions, in which the owner wants to play, but the cat just does not budge, on the other hand, your cat may want some attention when you are in the middle of an important phone call or trying to sleep. Remember that cats cannot understand us when we speak to them so its important to be very patient with them. If you are in the middle of an important project and the cat does not stop bugging you, you can just shoo it out of the room and close the door. Do not act like you get mad at it, or act harsh with it. Never hit, yell, or push a cat as it will frighten it and it could react violently toward you to protect itself. Remember that if you notice that your cat seems to be acting strangely or differently, it might be due for a veterinary appointment. Just like us cats have their good and bad days and it's important we search out any signals of illness or of a psychological problem. Be careful with those hands: Keep in mind that your hands are intended to transmit security and pleasure to your cat. Hitting your kitten or rough playing while it plays as if it is biting your hand is not recommended at all. There are many people with now older cats that with they had not allowed their kittens to do this. The problem with this game is that then the cat thinks that your hands are it's prey, and it is not enjoyable to have a cat grab and bite at your hands because they can really hurt you. |
