Scottish Fold Cat Breed

Origin
It is said they come from the domestic European, but instead of having erect ears, they are folder forward and downward.

Although this breed was accepted in 1974 by The Cat Fanciers' Association (CFA), there's some that hesitate in breeding them because they present hereditary problems: badly osseous formations which provoke a shortening of the coccyx vertebrae, bringing consequences like lameness tail, limping and pain; besides they have an excessive growth of nails that deform the cushions on their paws and produces them pain when they walk. Originally from Scotland.

Characteristics
Their hair is short, dense and soft in texture. Round medium size body with a flexible tail. Well- rounded head with a short and wide neck. Large, well rounded eyes, and separated by a broad nose. Their ears fold forward and downward.

Colors are: white, black, blue, red, cream, chinchilla, shaded silver, shell cameo, shaded cameo, black smoke, blue smoke, cameo smoke, classic tabby pattern, silver tabby, red tabby, brown tabby, blue tabby, cream tabby, cameo tabby, tortoiseshell, calico, dilute calico, blue-cream and bi-color.

Their disposition matches their sweet expression. It is thought that they catch vibrations with hair inside their ear; this is very useful for hunting.
