Problems with Cat Popularity

Many of the first Siamese had problems of health, such as gastritis and respiratory affections. Their fulminating popularity originated a strong demand that favored the indiscriminate breeding and the massive import of cats of doubtful origin, and this supposed that the exhibitions of the decade of 1950 were crammed with all kinds of Siamese; some of the specimens were not healthy. Their blue, brilliant and oblique eyes, tended to the strabismus, which was doing that the cats seemed to be cross-eyed.. The first breeders reached certain success in the elimination of this fault, but it reappeared in 1940 and in 1950 as consequence of the indiscriminate crossings. The tail presents sometimes the crooked top, another failure in an exhibition of cats. The obsessions and the modes are influencing the judges, for what the breeders preferred the most pronounced features of cats. For this motive, the current Siamese has been acquiring an angular exagerate line, especially in the head. In the United Estates has appeared a preference to the form of the longest body and in decrease and due to these modes the breed continue dividing each time in more new types.

To the difference of most of the cats, it is possible to lead the Siamese to walking with a strap and teach him to return things and other skills. This feature, unusual in a feline, is accompanied by a personality exceptionally extravert. the Siamese loves the persons and he will be waiting that his owner returns of working to spend the rest raised in his lap. Do not let them for a long time during the day, though they have toys and garden; if they get bored they can break things.

His affection does not spread always to other cats. In spite of his delicate feature, a Siamese is very capable of intimidating the neighboring cats if they dare to invade his territory. They are also very meowing in many circumstances, and the females in heat are famous for expressing a strong and noisy meow, which is very hard for many owners. The Siamese of both sexes reach the maturity before than other breeds, so, if it doesn't take care, a kitty of 6 months can be a father without the assent of the owner. It seems that also they are more prolific than most of the breeds, producing numerous litters easily.
