Outdoor cat duplexSince I have two cats I decided to build them an outdoor cat duplex. Having your cats in a double decked house is a great way for them to live. The multi level/deck cat house knows no limits. One really nice cat enclosure I found has the first cat house sitting on a platform 16" above the ground and that has a front deck measuring 21"W x 8"D and a rear deck with a nice size of 21"W x 4 ½ "D then an overhead loft on which sits the second cat house and that has a spacious porch of 21"W x 14"D and is a full 40" off the ground. Both houses are easy for most cats to reach in a single jump and the loft house can be reached by any fat cat simply by climbing up from the first level. One great thing about this townhouse that I found is that the two cat houses come in seven predrilled easy to assemble panels and the platform and loft come already fully assembled. All you need to do is connect the legs to the platform insert the screws in their predrilled holes, attach the loft (with its screws), place the two assembled cat houses in there respective places and there you have it. Building plans for cat houses come in all shapes and sizes. Whether you are looking for a beautiful wooden Cedar cat house or if you just want a simple area where your cat can play, eat and rest in be sure to work with a plan. But even then you might be out of luck like I was with my first cat that just hated any type of cat house or enclosure. I ended up getting it a nice bed and he slept inside right in front of the fireplace. |
