Cat Irritations

 

When the cat suffers irritations because of a reaction of allergic type, he begins to scratch intensely. Knowing commonly as nettle-rash, these reactions can derive in a dangerous anaphylactic shock. If does not control the attitude of the feline, even if it should to less worrying reasons, he can take himself serious injuries.

Apply a cold compress. Phone the veterinarian for advice.

  1. Immobilize the cat
  2. Examine the skin and apply cold compresses during fifteen minutes in the most affected zones.
  3. Try to identify and eliminate the reason of the irritation.
  4. If he continues scratching itself or becomes worse, coordinate an appointment with his veterinarian.

  • When it is possible, try to prevent that your cat plays with insects that could sting or to cause irritation.
  • When you put him a new antifleas collar, observe to the animal carefully during the first days for if local symptoms of irritation appear.
