Heated indoor cat houseIf you have your cat house indoors then it is not as all important to have it heated. Of course if you have your wood cathouse outside or is you live in a region that suffers from extreme weather shifts then  you would definitely want to think about getting your cat house heated. The AC/Heater option is the best because that way you can keep your cat warm in the winter and cool in the summer. One really interesting thing is that cats while they do all right in hot weather are really not able to withstand the ravages of cold weather well at all. Cats descend from desert dwelling felines and are happy when the sun is shining and can in fact tolerate temperatures that would make humans very uncomfortable. But even the long haired breeds of cats are very susceptible to rain, wind and snow. Any good cat house will come with a flap to cover the door of the cat house in order to keep out these unwanted elements. Also you should always insulate your cathouse whether you have it inside or outside and whether it is heated or not. One of the ways that cats conserve energy is by sleeping more than most animals, especially as they grow older. Daily durations of sleep are various, usually 12–16 hours, with 13–14 being the average. Some cats can sleep as much as 20 hours in a 24-hour period. Of course if your cat is sleeping too much this can also be an indication of illness so it is always best to keep an eye on the approximate number of hours that your cat is sleeping everyday. If you have a climate control system in your house then it is probably not essential for you to have your indoor cathouse heated separately. |
