Cat Drooling and grabbing
Why cats drool and grab onto us: Whenever a cat becomes part of the family in our homes, it begins to consider us as part of its family. Sometimes they may even consider us its mother since we feed it, give it a place to live, and protect it, and this in turn makes the cat feel safe and secure.
Some cats might even get so into the idea of a human being its mother that it drools when its "mother" is carrying it. Sometimes they even push at their "mother" as if trying to stimulate the milk.
Some cat owners think this behavior is adorable and they enjoy the bond with their cats in this way. But, others do not enjoy having their cats drool on them and grab at their shirts for attention.
If your cat has become too spoiled in this way, one solution could be for you to play with it, instead of cuddling and hugging it. This is even something that a kitten's real mother would do when it does not want it to grab at her for milk.
