Cats on Kitchen Counter & Table

Cats are extremely curious creatures. Besides this, they are very agile, and it's very easy for them to search out the whole house, even the top shelves in the kitchen. If your cat jumps on the table and finds to his delight, a plate of food, it will probably believe that it has hit jackpot. The cat will probably not think that it's wrong to eat what is on the table, or that it is stealing, and it will probably get used to doing this over again if this behavior is not stopped right away. The best solution for this behavior is to leave any unattended food on the table. If you have to leave the cat alone, even for a few seconds, make sure to not leave food at its reach.

Warm and comfy: Cats will sleep from 13 to 18 hours out of a 24-hour period and where they choose to sleep is no coincidence. Cats love to spend their "down time" in warm and comfortable locations and if they can find a spot that meets this criteria and has their owner's smell, better yet. This explains why many cats choose to spend time relaxing in their owner's favorite armchair or even more preferable, their bed.

If you don't want your feline using your bed or armchair as its bed then there is only one thing to do and that is close the door. Don't allow your cat access to the places you don't want it using. You can also put aluminum foil or a plastic bag over the cushion of your favorite chair to stop your cat from putting its dirty paws all over it.
