 | Cat TrainingCats can be educated as any other domestic animal, in spite that their independent character impedes the procedure. For cats to learn something taught by man is a difficult task, but not impossible. Then, why is it so difficult to educate cats if they have the most developed brains among mammals?Because cats have a different mental behavior scheme than a dog or man. This is not so much because cats are an individual of solitary life, but to that he is a solitary hunter, and since it develops without the help of any animal of the same type, it does not give or receive orders, so their mental behavior scheme does not include answering to any commands as a dog or human does. Since it does not give or receive orders (except in the mother-son relationship), it is difficult to motivate it to learn something, cats don't care about winning over their superior like dogs or humans do, so they learn only what really interest them. For example, many cats learn by themselves how to open the latches of the doors to get out. Thanks to this selective learning, they also learn to open refrigerators if what they want is food. But, this doesn't mean we shouldn't try a basic education that permits us to enjoy our cat.Educating a cat has the purpose of achieving an excellent living situation with their owner. This has to be started at an early age so that the cat can incorporate its learning to his socializing stage where learning is fast and it can stay in their memory for ever. |
