Cat Stick Games

If you want to play a "hunting" game with you cat, the best thing for this are toys that come on a rod and string. There are many pet stores that sell these types of toys. Another option is to make them yourself. To use these type of toys, hold the stick up as if it were a fishing pole and drag the string that is tied on it on the floor, you can also lift it up in the air so that the cat catches on to the idea of jumping for it. If your cat catches on to it, don't jerk it, to the contrary, loosen the string and, when the cat lets go, start the game over. When the cat has become a pro at this game you can complicate it a little more: drag the end of the string moving it away from the cat behind a sofa or through a door that is slightly open. Watch as the cat jumps for it, stocking the string as if it were its prey. Try moving the string right before the cat grabs at it and see who wins.

Making your own play rod

1. Use a stick or a bamboo rod of about twenty five centimeters long. Cut it to the length you desire.
2. Wrap the ends of the stick with scotch tape so that it does not hurt or cut your hands.
3. Tie a long thin rope or string onto one of the ends of the stick so that it looks like a fishing pole.
4. On the other side of the string, tie on one of your cats favorite toys. Cats really enjoy toys that have feathers or wool on them. One you have this put together, you're all set to go and have fun with your cat.
