Cat Routines
Cats are animal of habit. On the wild world, they follow a different routine during the day and during the night which is dictated by the quality of light. They patrol their territory in a systematic way, making pauses on specific places to rest or to inspect the terrain.
Cats are sensible to changes, due that they are always sing of danger. The taste for the routine persists in domestic cats.
They like for everyday to be exactly the same as always, which not only applies to their feeding hours but also to playing and resting, to that of caresses and petting, also for cleaning and embellishing, and to go outside and to go inside.
They have a great timing sense and they learn fast at what time feed him, at what hour to get up in the mornings, at what time the children go and return from school, and at what time people go to rest at night.
They are also sensible to unusual activity as in the preparations done for vacations or for moving to another house, as is also the absence of any member of the family.
Events of this type can cause them stress that many times is traduced in the lack of appetite, for the animal to hide or even to disappear from the house.
A way to increase their sense of security is to give him more attention and affection in delicate moments.
Of course, we don't pretend that the life inside a house has to be changed completely because of the cat, but you might have in mind, that once in a while when possible, cats need to have the security of the routine and of a family life. Another aspect is that there has to be a coherence in the way all the family treats the cat.
The cat will be very confused if sometimes you let him sleep on the couch and other times someone comes and throws him out with no apparent reason.
Most cats have the will to accept the restrictions in a good way, but the will only obey if these are coherent.
