Cat Plain

The most important cat parasites are the "Dipylidium Canimun" and the "Tenia Taeniformis", parasites that need an intermediary host to complete their lifecycle.

Transmission: The eggs are discharged with the feces, they are eaten by the intermediaries and thus cats acquires them through fleas or through raw meat of infected animals.

Symptoms: Animals infected by "Dipylidium" have the same symptoms as when infected by round parasites. Animals affected by the tapeworm only show itching on the anal area.

Prevention: By applying preventive worming to whelps in their first months, and to adults cats, in a periodical way, during all their life.

Also, one must clean the facilities and equipment every day and disinfect periodically the same. It is fundamental to maintain the breeding grounds free of fleas and rodents.

Treatment: By using specific anti-parasites, preparation based on "Praziquantel" for example, in the recommended doses established on the label of the commercial product. It is also fundamental to control fleas and rodents.
