Cat DeafnessIn some cats, the deafness is hereditary. The most affected cats are the whites, especially if they have blue eyes. Sometimes, if only one of the eyes is blue (different eyes), the cat can be deaf of an ear, though this is not in the habit of being a problem. The cats with hereditary deafness can be difficult to teach them. It is advisable to have them inside house, because they cannot hear the noise of the traffic; in the same way, if an old cat sits down in half of the street, he can be already too deaf and his safety is in danger. But, if he has a great company, there is no reason that a deaf cat could not have a full and happy life. |
