Cat Bed and Other Utensils

Like for any other domestic animal, cats need certain basic elements to feel comfortable at home. 

Cat Bed
The bed that we provide for our cat can consist of a basket, of washable material without any inaccessible corners o it can simply be a mat that can be washed frequently. Sometimes a simple box of carton or a rug can fulfill this function. We can make the bed comfortable with soft padding, but the important thing is not how we make, but if they like it. 

Cats fall asleep almost anywhere and unlike any other animal, they rarely choose only one place to sleep. The bed must be bigger than when the cat is stretched and if it's a wood crib; it must be closed by three ends, igloo type houses for cats are not good for long haired cats because it makes them too hot. Kittens that are too small and do not have their mother or siblings nearby need additional heat. So try to give them a blanket to go to sleep. They first find places of the house they most like and then they start looking for the calmest or warmest place.  It is difficult to avoid them from sleeping in our bed, unless they are prohibited to go in the rooms. That's' why we have to look for a calm spot to place their bed. Preferably not in the bedrooms (of the children especially). A corners turns out to be ideal on some type of room that can be an office, study room or in the lounge near a heating device that works during the day. 

Recommendations for the bed
Follow some advices so your cat will be happy in the spot their bed has been placed:

• If the bed is placed in a closed room, put a litter tray inside the room or give them the opportunity to reach it when they need it.
• Avoid congested household areas.
• The place where the bed is cannot be humid so they can sleep.
• It is difficult for them to adapt to our sleeping hours, since they distribute their sleep throughout the day and have more night activity. The ideal thing is to tire them playing during the day if then we want to rest at night Anyhow, it is part of educating them to respect our sleep.
