Cat Allergic Reactions

Those who need treatment urgently are:

Anaphylactic shock
It is an immediate type of reaction of hypersensitivity in which death can happen for respiratory and circulatory collapse. Signs to watch are: excitation, diarrhea, vomit, vascular constriction, convulsions, coma and death.

Must stay calm and think of all possible things that could have caused the shock, where was it?, what was the last thing it ate?, is it under medical treatment?, was it vaccinated?, did it take some tranquilizer?, has it suffered convulsions before?, must be taken immediately to the veterinarian because it can die.

Urticaria
Skin condition that that is caused by an allergic reaction and is characterized by raised red patches on the skin, especially around the eyes, mouth and ears. This kind of allergic reaction does not start immediately, but after twenty minutes of the exposure to the reason of the allergy. 

It is frequent that the allergy originates from food ingestion in state of decomposition, blood or plasma transfusion, insect bites or contact with certain chemical substances.

If you cat ate something and suspects it was the food that caused the allergic reaction, withdraw the food. You can also check where it scratches itself to find a possible cause, picket or sting. Do not medicate your cat, take it to the veterinarian.

Ears and nose
Generally it is recommended to have cats away from children. A kid, playing with a cat, can stick objects up their nose or ears, like balls, buttons, beans, paper balls etc.

By logic, the animal will start worrying and scratching itself; will turn the head constantly, there will be pain, inflammation; and in some cases, presence of blood.

To solve it, first you must check the ears and nose. If you find an object inside these orifices, try to take it out carefully with small tweezers, to avoid penetrating more and worsening the situation.  If this is not possible, take it quickly to the veterinarian to solve the cats problem.
