Burmese Cat Breed

Origin
The first references of this breed appeared in the book of cat poems printed in 1350 in Thailand. They seem to come from the Burman monasteries where this breed was venerated as a divinity. Related with the Siamese, it was imported from RangĂșn to the United States in 1920.

Characteristic
They are affectionate, intelligent, sociable and a good hunter. The hair texture is very soft and thin as satin of dark black or shinny sable. Their hair and golden almond shaped eyes make a very nice contrast. Eyes of pale color, green, blue and bicolor.

The head is round without any angles with a considerable separation between the eyes that goes towards the snout. The ears are medium-sized, upright and slightly bent towards with a wide base and rounded top.

Their body is medium-sized, muscular and compact. The males are always bigger than the females. The chest should be wide and round, same as the back. The limbs are in proportion with the body with round paws. The tail should be of medium length, straight and pointed at the end.

They have an expressive look that varies among them, by their character or effect with artificial light that changes their eye color.

Their character is extremely sweet; they love to play with their owner without having to take out their claws. They can live with dogs if they grow up together. They like being the only ones in the house making them jealous of other cats.

They don't like staying alone at home. Do not leave them alone for a long period of time. They are fascinating and intelligent, invent their own games, all you have to do is offer them pieces of paper, woolen thread or clothe.
