American Wirehair Cat Breed
Origin
The American Wirehair breed is uniquely American that comes from a cat called Adam. Born up north in the state of New York in 1966 with a mutation that created wired hair.
Born from American Shorthair and born from a mutation that originated the wirehairs. Adam was the only living survivor from a litter of an opportunist. Discovered in 1966, afterwards crossed with other cats including a sister from the litter to continue the breed.
The crossing of two American Wirehair rarely has any successful litters, that is why they are crossed with American Shorthair.
