A Good Communication

Contrary to what you may think; cats are social animals that establish good links with the people and with other pets of the family. Our relation with the cat depends on his individual character, of which you have made him sociable soon and on how we behave ourselves with him. Not all the cats like a close physical contact, which can be disappointing for an owner who wants a spoilt animal. There are breeds, as the Siamese, that are in the habit of being more affectionate; others, as the abisinia, are more independent. But there are exceptions.

People who don't like the cats are in the habit of saying that they only want to look for our affection when they want giving them to eat. Though it is true that, at first, a cat feel attracted towards the person who gives him food, a close tights of affection with his owner are something deeper.

By itself, to fill the cat's dish of food is not enough to establish these close emotive bows. It is necessary to have an intense interchange, in order that as much we as the cat know more one to another; for it, it is necessary to play and speak with the cat and answer him in all kinds of possible situations initially of the phase of mutual knowledge.

This does not mean that we oppress the cat with our attention. It is very important to avoid this in a cat that has been neglected or ill-treated, or in one of shy and nervous character. It is necessary to do is to be always available and the cat will come to us in his moment, when he feels comfortable and calm.

A heavy and demanding cat
There are cats that want to be with the owner constantly. If they can, they are physically in touch with him and are noisy asking for attention. Many of these cats handle and absorb the clothes of the owner while they are in his lap. They can show distress if there are made they alone during the day or if one does not give them sufficient attention. In extreme cases, this can provoke that there become wounded, that eat up the tapestry or urinate inside house.

This behavior openly dependent on the cat can be due that the attitude of the owner encourages him, which he needs many caresses as consequence of a disease or a wound or, sometimes, the changes of behavior when he becomes old. To teach the cat to be more independent, it is necessary to discourage him without caresses, replacing the caresses and the prolonged contact by games. It is not necessary to punish the cat for his relapses. It will increase his edginess.
