Infected Dog Wounds

While you wait for the veterinarian, keep the dog lying down, avoiding any physical activity because that makes the infection spread around the body. Slightly raise the infected zone, if it's possible according to where the wound is, if that alleviates the pain. Apply a hot humid cloth (not boiling) on the infected area and neighboring areas. Use a bigger piece of cloth and the wound itself; big enough to extend at least 4 cm over the wound on each side.

The cost must be soaked in the salt solution (1 teaspoon in half a liter of hot clean water) or, also, in the solution of magnesium sulfate in hot water. If the vet takes too long, you must continue with the hot humid cloths for some hours. After that you must lead the wound drive for about an hour and then reinitiate the hot loss for another hour, which you'll do it in an alternate form until the vet arrives. If the wound is in the inferior members, it would be best to give the dog a bath, proceeding in the same way as with the cloths. Remember: the dog needs veterinary attention.
