Different Agents that can Intoxicate Dogs
"Irritating agents" do not destroy body tissue directly but cause a lot of inflammation in the area they are in contact with. Good examples of that are "potassium nitrate", "zinc chloride", "arsenic", "iodine" and "phosphate". After having been ingested, the irritants cause adynamia, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. The vomiting and feces often include streaks of blood. The dog feels abdominal collics.
