Dog Diseases Problems A-P
Anal Furunculosis: It is long and short tailed dogs that usually suffer due to the basic factor of constant humidity of that area. The lesion can extend and get deeper, which can produce discomfort or pain when the animal wants to defecate. The area must be washed and cleaned very well in order for the pus to drain out freely. The dry exudation blocks the exit of pus, which is counterproductive. You can use a diluted antiseptic in water or also a salt solution (dilute 2 teaspoons of salt and 1 L water). Keep the area very dry. If necessary, check with the vet.
Bad BreathL Bad breath in dogs can be due to teeth decay, bone decay inside the nasal walls with posterior ulceration, accompanied by nasal secretion. It can also be due to stomach problems like dyspepsia, during some forms of pneumonia, or bronchitis and bronchopneumonia. Consult the vet.
Canine Mumps: This is a normally sporadic infectious disease. The symptoms start with fever and inflammation of the cervical lymphatic glands; sometimes with the appearance of abscesses. There is also a pus substance that provokes abortion and subsequent sterility of the female dogs when the infection has been localized in the genital apparatus. On rare occasions there can be septicemia with serious consequences. It is very important to get in touch with the vet.
Cysts: These are hollow tumors that have liquid or soft matter (cyst grease) inside. They are generally benign and, if extracted, very difficult that they reappear. There are various types of cysts with diverse localizations, external or internal. The external ones, when touched, feel free, not attached. Whenever you notice a cyst, you must consult the vet, and it might not just be a simple cyst.
Furunculosis:This is an acute skin disease characterized by the presence of many furuncles, which are sometimes full of pus. Although they can be found almost anywhere, there are more frequent on the sides of the chest and legs, especially on the protruding bones, like the tarsus. You should ask your vet for the best treatment.
Gum Jawbone: In this strange state observed in dogs, in which the bones of the cranium and especially the jaw gradually become tender and flexible. There is a marked loss of in the bones and an increase of calcium in the blood. The cause of this disease can be attributed to a "cystic fibroid osteitis", to "hyperparathyroiditis" or another cause. The pressure on the bones is painful. The disappearance of the bone tissue is observed, being replaced by fibrous tissue. Please go to the vet if you do notice this strange abnormality.
Leucoderm: Some parts of the skin and hair become white as a result of an injury or disease.Lordosis: It is an abnormal inward (forward) curvature of the vertebral column. This disorder is observed when the dog has tetanus and, sometimes, rabies.
Photofobia: This is when the novel suffers from inflammation in the eyes generally affecting the iris and when it receives the projection of a strong light. The affected dog will look for a dark place, and when he is exposed to the light, he will blink, scratch his eyes and tilt his head from one side to the other as if he had been hit. Consult your veterinarian.
