Canine Ulcers - Types of Dog Ulcer

An ulcer is a lesion of the skin or a mucous membrane such as the one lining the stomach or duodenum that is accompanied by formation of pus and necrosis of surrounding tissue, usually resulting from inflammation or ischemia. They can appear anywhere in the body and can be produced by multiple causes, making it difficult to give a specific diagnosis but, in general, it occurs when an agent damages the surface, impeding the normal clotting process. Any state that diminishes the general vitality of the dog, like old age, chronic diseases, tuberculosis, etc. make the healing process take longer.

When the dog has ulcer, he usually shows signs of a lack of appetite, laziness, and often suffers. You must bring this to the veterinarian's attention.
