Canine Parvovirus in Dog
Canine parvovirus is a disease that acquired by a very infectious virus with acts very quickly and can lead to death of the dog. Therefore, every puppy must be given his shots at a very young age, like around two months old, following a vaccination plan while he is a puppy, young dog and adult. "Parvovirus" produces "myocarditis" in infected puppies during the first two or three weeks of life. This virus acquires another manifestation in weaned puppies and young dogs, which then manifests another disease called "enteritis". There is a big margin in the severity of the symptoms, from the symptomatic to the extreme dysenteric, which leads to collapse and death within 24 hours. This disease is manifested by frequent vomits, extreme depression and anorexia, prolonging until the presentation of the area, between 24 or 48 hours after vomiting has started. The fecal matter is abundant and fluid with stains or streaks of blood, although it can be soft, creamy or noticeably hemorrhagic, with a strong stench. If not attended from the very first moment you noticed the manifestations, the little animal can die within 48 and 72 hours.
In the case of small puppies (two to three weeks), sudden death can occur due to cardiac failure, with a high percentage of spontaneous death. Since this is one of the most severe diseases that attacks puppies and young dogs, you should never doubt one minute if you should take him to the vet or not. He will be able to apply vaccines, thus saving the animal's life.
