How to clean wet urine stains

 

For carpets and cloth covered furniture:

  • Splotch up as much as you can of the urine with paper towels, avoid scrubbing. Continue using dry paper towels until the peed on area is almost dry. If an accident has happened on a carpet, press some paper towels over it for a few seconds so that they absorb the urine. Clean the stained area with clean water and blot again until it is almost dry.
  • There are many enzymatic products such as stain and odor removers you can use that are specifically designed to infiltrate into the carpet filters which absorb the foul odors and which ensure they fabrics don't

You should also wear gloves while doing this job. Contrary to popular belief vinegar and household cleaners will not solve the problem permanently.

Cleaning urine on hard surfaces

  • Use paper towels to soak up the urine and then use an enzymatic cleaner to finish the job. These products have directions on how to use them specifically, so follow what the label says.
